Mo Bauer, a Member of the Bridgewater-based law firm Norris McLaughlin & Marcus, P.A., will speak at the MCBA/MCLE’s “The Effect of Bankruptcy On Your Case: What Every Lawyer Should Know” seminar on Tuesday, June 21 a 5:30 pm at the Morris Country Administration Building in Morristown.
Bauer and Robert Schmidt will discuss all that needs to be known about the impact of bankruptcy on your case. They will discuss what the chapters of bankruptcy are, bankruptcy notices and proofs of claim, the automatic stay, effects of state court litigation, relief of stay and exceptions, non-dischargeable complaints and effect of discharge, matrimonial proceedings, business bankruptcy, sale of assets and plan of reorganization and effect on state court litigation, preferences, and fraudulent conveyance actions.
A resident of Long Valley, Bauer is a member of the Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights Group at Norris McLaughlin & Marcus. He represents debtors, creditors’ committees, financial institutions, landlords, and trade creditors in Chapter 11 proceedings of publicly and closely-held corporations, limited liability companies, and partnerships.
Bauer is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association (Debtor/Creditor Section), the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute, and the Turnaround Management Association. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, the U. S. District Court for the District of New Jersey and the Southern and Eastern District of New York, the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Bauer earned his J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law and his B.S. from Dickinson College.
